Chapter Nine

The racist, anti-Semitic publication ‘The Jubilee’ sponsored a four-day convention at a resort near Scottsdale, Arizona in 2000, called The Jubilation. This was about three weeks after the FBI agents had assigned me to attend a two-day confab hosted by American Renaissance, in Reston, Virginia. I had attended the 1998 Jubilation, also in Arizona. In 2000, over 300 Christian “identitarians”, as they called themselves, showed up for seminars, lectures, exhibits, and the opportunity to meet fellow haters. The Council of Conservative Citizens, Liberty Lobby, and other far right, racist organizations also participated.

Absent was Jared Taylor, whose American Renaissance group eschewed anything he deemed to be anti-Semitic. Not having Taylor and his fans at the Jubilation lowered the average IQ of the attendees by probably 30 points. William Pierce wasn’t there due to scheduling conflicts, so I was there in his stead. After attending the 2000 Jubilation, I filed a lengthy report on it. In 2001, the agents assigned me to attend that year’s event.

At least 30 National Alliance members were present and recruiting efforts were in full swing. About 75 white supremacists and Holocaust deniers sat in the air-conditioned cabana near a huge pool, behind the brick and stone mansion of a Pierce supporter in Scottsdale, just off of Camelback Drive. Barry Goldwater’s home was two miles from this impressive house. On the first night of the conclave, a racist country music band entertained. The lead singer sounded like Johnny Cash. One of his most popular tunes was a reworked version of Cash’s bit hit, ‘Ring of Fire’. Among the lyrics:

“Jews – they’re a wicked bunch, whose bones, I’d like to crunch; Pa-tri-ots like us aspire - to toss ‘em in-

to a Ring of Fire. Down, down, down, in a burn-in’ Ring of Fire; them Jews burned up, as the flames got

higher - Evil Hebes all baked, in a Ring of Fire; a Ring of Fire… Them nasty Jews all burned, in a Ring of

Fire, to my heart’s de-sire; in a Ring of Fire, a Ring of Fire, a Ring of Fire, a Ring of Fire … ”

Another crowd-pleaser was a bigoted version of ‘Tie a Yellow Ribbon ‘round the old Oak Tree’:

‘I’m comin’ home; done my time… A Jew-boy Judge said killin’ a spick’s a crime; Bein’ locked up with

them Jig-a-boos was really tough to take – Luck-i-ly for me, I found some fag-got heads to break … and

Mus-lim necks to break … So, hang some kikes and nig-gers from the ole Oak Tree; ‘cause when I get

home, it’ll sure please me … “

Then there was, ‘Who likes a Nigger’, which opened this way:

‘Billy Jeff Clinton was a-flyin’ one morn, over south Loose-ee-anna, a-feelin’ forlorn

So, he looks down below, and what does he see? But two Cajuns pullin’ a nigger on skis

So he lands, says thanks fer helpin’ yer black brother,

Well, them two Cajuns just looked at each other, said,

He might be smart, but I’ll tell you sumpin’ – he don’t know a thing about

Aaallll-li-ga-tor huntin’
